Over the years, we’ve helped hundreds of churches launch in spaces that required them to be portable and efficient. Most often, we see churches launch in a setting like a school, hotel, or theater. However, we’ve also helped a few churches launch in some pretty unique spaces.
We were bowled over when a church in Grand Rapids, MI announced their intent to meet in a local bowling alley. The venue held 192 adults and up to 105 children.
We created a stage area that went over the alleys while the children met in party rooms and cafeteria areas. The environment required some special design and special speakers to get the acoustics just right. However, it ended up being right up everyone’s alley!

It’s definitely interesting to see the different venues a church can gather in. I’ve never seen a church in a bowling alley, but I can see how it would work, and the different rooms can definitely be utilized for church functions. Thanks for sharing!
